As proud members of the Southeast Cave Conservancy, our destination is known to have more caves per square mile than any other county in the country. No matter what kind of adventure you crave, there is something for everyone to explore here on the wilder edge of Northeast Alabama.

We are home to several nationally known attractions including Unclaimed Baggage Center, Russell Cave National Monument, Cathedral Caverns State Park & the 150-year-old soda fountain – Payne’s.

Bustling with year-round events that celebrate our unique history, culture and the arts visitors typically come to enjoy Scottsboro, and surrounding areas during all seasons. Each event uniquely accompanies life on Lake Guntersville, the largemouth bass capital of the world, recently named the 2nd best largemouth bass lake in the nation by Bassmaster Magazine.
