Biz Chat 014 How to Brand Your School with Dale Hancock
We've Launched Alabama's First Statewide Business focused Twitter Chat - #BizChatAL and during our fourteenth week we talked with @dalehancock. Mr. Hancock has been an administrator for 27 years and is currently the acting principal at Collins Intermediate School. Today we discussed how to brand your school.
It's telling our school's story. It’s a snapshot of all of the great things going on in our building on a daily basis. #BizChatAL
A school’s identity comes from what they value most. Everything we do is important. You have to determine what is the most important thing you do. We have to established priorities and focus on them. #BizChatAL
You attract who you are. We want to attract the best teachers and support personnel to make us a better school. We believe by sharing what we value and the results we get will attract the best people. #BizChatAL
Our audience is our customers. Our customers are the taxpayers. We try to target student’s parents and supporters of our school. We would like to attract businesses to move in to our city to help improve the quality of life. #BizChatAL
The brand starts with the leadership of the organization. It comes from the leader's vision. The leader has to set an example. Staying focused on what matters most is essential to the brand process. #BizChatAL
I use social persuasion to recognize what we want to emphasize. We use social media to promote our students & teachers accomplishments. I've asked our teachers to tweet at least one tweet a day to share the great things going on in their classroom. #BizChatAL
