As Chairman of the Mountain Lakes Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, it is my pleasure to introduce you to this year’s Board comprised of twenty-three chamber members from across Jackson County.
They represent our County’s communities and work in our County’s businesses, educational systems, and public service agencies. We have a very diverse group of members whose community and business experiences provide valuable insights to the Board’s role of governing and directing the Chamber of Commerce.
Our members are active in supporting the Chamber’s work of coordinating, developing, and assisting in the location, financing, and direction of enterprises and activities throughout Jackson County. We also work with the Chamber to partner with Jackson County authorities, County and City Educational Systems as well as our County municipalities, businesses and elected officials to “Promote the welfare of all Jackson County citizens”.
We are blessed to live, work, raise our families and start and nurture businesses in one of Alabama and America’s most beautiful counties & proud to call Jackson County home.
However, as we begin this year, we are well aware of the impact COVID has had and continues to have on our citizens, communities, and county. The effects have touched every sector – business, education, church services, civic organizations, medical workers, first responders, and others.
Businesses, particularly small businesses, stay open to serve the public, churches try to balance safety with efforts to resume on-site services, medical personnel, and first responders work through the stress of the pandemic to keep us safe, and teachers and administrators work to return our students to school safely.
Our heartfelt thanks to those who go to work every day to keep Jackson County open and operating.
To assist our Chamber’s work supporting recovery from the impacts of the pandemic and growth in Jackson County, our Board will focus our efforts on six initiatives the Chamber has implemented to foster recovery and economic development.
These six initiatives led by Board Vice-Chairs include:
2021 Chamber Chairman
Destination Marketing & Tourism
Bridgeport Chapter Chair
Stevenson Chapter Chair
The goal of these initiatives is to spread the word about what a great place Jackson County is to live, work and raise a family. To help in training our young people and workforce for the opportunities presented by future business and economic growth in Jackson County, and engage in the formulation and implementation of Public Policy to help our county’s recovery and growth.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve the citizens, municipalities, and businesses of Jackson County.
