Bucks Pocket State Park

Buck’s Pocket State Park – Jackson County, Ala.

Located in three counties (DeKalb, Jackson and Marshall), the Cherokee Indians once lived, before the Trail of Tears.

Secluded in a natural pre-historic looking part of the Appalachian Mountain foothills, the pocket itself is on an upstream tributary of Lake Guntersville. Seven miles downstream at Morgan’s Cove is a boat launch and fishing area on Lake Guntersville, noted for spectacular bass fishing.

Home to a 200-acre wild world that runs along the west side of Sand Mountain. Avid hikers will get their thrills climbing the peak of the Point Rock and looking down into the 800-foot Canyon.
