WHAT WE'RE FOCUSED ON
We are working to shape the future of our hometown business community! Located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, along the Tennessee River, our corner of Northeast Alabama is home to Google’s newest data center & primed for tech driven growth!
Our team represents the leading source of small business + tourism growth in Jackson County, Alabama. Every five years, we focus on a program of work set up & backed by community leaders.
We are currently operating under the Gateway to the Future Project, which runs from 2017-2021, accomplishing six initiatives that cover vital economic growth elements.
Industry Driven Talent Development
Business Growth & Recruitment
The Chamber serves as the primary liaison between the business and education communities. In partnership with IMPACT Learning Center and Jackson County EDA, we ensure a relevant push to merge funding & curriculum needs with future workforce demands of business and industry.
We actively expand the County’s tax base through the aggressive retention and growth of the existing retail and commercial business landscape. Additionally, we are partnered with NextSite to recruit new retail and commercial businesses.
Public Policy & Business Advocacy
Jackson County Mountain Movers
Effectively serving as the leading advocate and “Voice of Business” in Jackson County at all government levels. We accomplish this through proactive support of policies that encourage growth and promote an environment in which business can prosper.
Through this group of vibrant professionals, we are committed to providing a platform to attract, retain, cultivate, engage, and promote dynamic leadership throughout Jackson County.
Tourism Development
Branding & Communications
We are responsible for marketing the unique attributes of Jackson County to a targeted spectrum of audiences – ranging from the individual leisure and business traveler to those looking for permanent residence. Between 2001-2019 we’ve grown visitor spending 260% (from $17M to $70M) and will continue to expand our promotions to better impact our economy.
With the announcement of Google’s Data Center in Bridgeport, we are working to become known as “Jackson County, the core of the data corridor between Huntsville and Chattanooga.” Our goal is to communicate, promote, and emphasize the assets of Jackson County to brand the area as a prime location for business and a destination for skilled workers.
