Jackson County Park Campground Recertification: Proper Waste Disposal & Stewardship Event

JACKSON COUNTY PARK CAMPGROUND RECERTIFICATION:
PROPER WASTE DISPOSAL & STEWARDSHIP EVENT

Scottsboro/Jackson County, AL (October 14, 2022) – Jackson County Parks and Recreation is working to reestablish their campground recertification, and one key element to achieving this is educating the public of the importance of proper waste disposal.

“What so many people don’t know is that committing to just one, single, simple act of Leave No Trace is contributing to a tangible difference in the health of our outdoor world,” says Dana Watts, Director of Leave No Trace. Lake Guntersville is one of our greatest assets, and keeping it clean and beautiful will enhance and preserve our county for years to come.

Our partnership with Tennessee RiverLine will benefit Jackson County by improving public health and the stewardship of natural resources. We will be hosting our second stewardship event Saturday, October 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Jackson County Park. Anyone interested in participating is encouraged to call the Chamber at 256-259-5500. Volunteers will meet at the stage inside the park and assist with shoreline trash removal.
We value the opportunity in educating the public of the importance of clean waterways and greenways throughout Jackson County.

Thank you to our event sponsors, Foster Aquatic Vegetation Removal and KC BBQ.
